My art inspiration and ideas come largely from the natural world – flowers, trees, rocks, people and landscapes in the mountains where I live. I love to work from life. I also enjoy the challenges of backgrounds into many of my paintings.

My work covers watercolor and pen and ink. I’ve tried other mediums, but I prefer watercolor. It is a remarkable medium that allows the qualities of the pigments to become an integral part of the painting, rather than just to add color. Watching the watercolor flow is a beautiful sight.

Many of my paintings are available as originals, limited edition prints, or beautiful greeting cards. Please contact me if you want to know more about prices, shipping or commissions.

I love teaching, so I have started to make tutorial videos that will be on my website and Youtube channel soon featuring beginning watercolor. I am also starting a Patreon site that will have beginning watercolor tutorials.

The iris is one of my favorite flowers. Looking forward to the Iris Fest this spring. Feverfew watercolor with its little leaves took some time to paint but worth it.
